Lead Imagineer for Tokyo Disney Resort Becomes Portfolio Creative Executive For Disneyland
Daniel Jue becomes a key player at Disneyland just before the D23 Expo weekend.
Daniel Jue, lead Imagineering executive of the Tokyo Disney Resorts for the previous thirteen years, recently posted on his LinkedIn account that he is now Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Disneyland Resort for Walt Disney Imagineering.
This new role puts the celebrated Imagineering leader as the top creative executive at the Disneyland Resort right at the beginning of a promised “turbo-charged” period of development for the parks.
In Tokyo, Jue worked on THEA award winning attractions Nemo & Friends SeaRider and Soaring Fantastic Flight as well as Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. He also lead the teams that brought the resort’s new Fantasy Springs expansion to life. For Duffy fans, Mr. Jue was the creative executive in charge of that franchise as well.
Daniel Jue also made an impact on Disney+ with his emotional appearance in the Tokyo episode of “The Imagineering Story” describing the work the parks did to help people of the city post-earthquake.
Jue’s appointment to this critical role adds further weight to the seriousness of Disney’s promise that the Disneyland Resort would be making dramatic future expansions. We should know a lot more by the end of the D23 event this weekend.
