D23 — ‘Moana 2’ Takes Over the Stage at the Honda Center
The high-profile sequel leads off the evening for the Disney Entertainment Showcase.
Disney Entertainment opens the D23 event at the Honda Center with a star-studded tribute to the upcoming sequel to Moana.
The voice of Moana herself, Auli’i Cravalho, emerged onto the stage to sing the anthemic new song, “We’re Back” from the film. After this, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joined her on stage to discuss the high-profile Disney sequel.
Moana will now be the leader of their community and will have to deal with a younger sister. While searching for inhabitants of other islands, Moana and Maui will be faced against a villain who is not a villain, but is the “storm of storms.”
“Maui’s singing again — singing in keys that don’t exist…. and my hair looks fantastic.” — Dwayne Johnson
At the end of the presentation, the new official trailer premiered.
Moana 2 will premiere in theaters on November 27th.
