Roaring out of the mythology of American history and the shattered dreams of one of Disney’s greatest Imagineers, comes the story of Big Thunder.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad feels like pure fun: a runaway mine train, a mountain of red rock, and a few perfect sight gags that hit at 35-miles-per-hour. But the ride’s real story starts way earlier, in the myths America told itself about the frontier and who the American people believed they were.
Pete and Kelly take on the history of, well, history and how the collapsing dreams of one of Disney’s Nine Old Men led to a brand new ride through the old mining town of Rainbow Ridge.
